SKI AREA
ChaletYap is located in the Portes du Soleil, one of the biggest ski areas in Europe. More than 600km of slopes link two countries together, with great snow conditions from December to April. Altitudes range from 1100m to 2500m, and you will easily find ski runs to suit every level. Skiing in both France and Switzerland on one ski pass offers a unique experience and provides spectacular mountain scenery.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
La Chapelle d'Abondance has the largest cross-country skiing area in the Abondance Valley, which consists of 23 km of groomed cross-country trails suitable for all different levels, and for both classic cross-country skiing and cross-country skating. The trails pass directly in front of our chalet, so you can hit the slopes as you walk out the front door!
WITHOUT SKIES
Many other winter activities are on offer in the area, like snowshoeing through the beautiful white landscapes or being pulled along in a sled behind a group of huskies. You might even want to try driving the sled yourself! All of this and more can be experienced in our lovely village. Don’t forget to try your hand at cycling through the snow on an electric mountain bike: the newest attraction!
CHILD FRIENDLY
La Chapelle d'Abondance has its own ski resort called Crêt-Béni, which is great fun for beginners, children and families. With a children's exercise meadow in the valley, snow huskies and a sledding slope right in front of our chalet, staying with us is ideal for a family holiday.
